The Funeral of William H. DAY was held at the Christian Church at 10:30 and was in the charge of Joseph N. Britton, who was assisted by the choir. The GAR had charge of the services at the grave. Those of McPherson Post attending from here were C. M. Crawford; MV Wert, James Boots, BF Crabbs, LA Foote, John Clemson, HM Billingsley and Julius Buffington.

William Day, an old soldier of the Civil War and a member of McPherson Post of this city, died very suddenly Thurs. night at his home in New Market at 1:25. He was in this city Thurs. night and attended the meeting of McPherson Post, GAR and was counting on going with the post on Memorial day to witness the unveiling of the Lawton monument and to see Pres. Roosevelt. He was a painter by trade with the reputation of doing superior work. In politics he was identified with the Republican party and was an active worker believing firmly in its principles. he leaves a wife and 3 children. The children are Jinks Day, Samuel Day and Jewel Day. All of them live in New Market and are married. The deceased was 66 years of age and was b. in Scott Twp. He had lived in New Market all his life. The funeral will occur on Sunday at 10 o'clock at the residence. Interment will take place at Indiana Creek. - typed by kbz
